Packing Senior food boxes

This opportunity involves packing balanced monthly food boxes for The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) in Kent County. CSFP provides food to older adults with low-income. Items are packed in an assembly line format. Volunteering involves standing at a station, unpacking items from a pallet, and putting the assigned items in the food box. These events usually run for 4 hours with a short break.

Grand Rapids Public Museum

Greeter and Discovery Cart Volunteers

1. Volunteer greeters’ welcome groups visiting the museum during the week. Morning shifts usually occur between 8:30 and 10:30. Once groups are in the building, greeters also can volunteer in other roles in the museum.
2. Volunteers interact with guests by facilitating Discovery Cart exhibit. Carts are related to exhibits throughout the museum and volunteers can choose the cart that
matches their interest. All educational materials and training are provided. Scheduling is based on volunteers’ availability.

Park/Trail Clean Up

Park and trail clean ups include trash pick-up, planting, landscaping, weeding, raking, brush trimming, mulching, painting, branch pick up, lake and stream cleans, or special other projects.

Oasis of Hope

MA/CNA/Scribe Opportunity

Oasis of Hope is a medical center that provides care to patients with no medical insurance. They are looking for more student volunteers to help ensure that their patients are getting quality care! No previous experience is needed, training will be done on site with staff.

Club blood drive!

Our blood drive on October 8th successfully collected 22 units of blood, which is enough to save 56 lives! Thanks to everyone who donated!

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Mentor: Juniors or Seniors who have experienced or are currently experiencing the application process and academic criteria for multiple PA programs. *Also a good leadership opportunity*


Mentee: Freshmen or Sophomores who may have questions regarding experiences/coursework/applying to PA programs
